Equal Gender

It was explained that we are part of a society tailored to man and that activities of this nature are needed in order to understand this multifaceted phenomenon of women, where they fight for a series of just claims. “From my point of view, looking for a concrete place in society, which is neither behind nor ahead of man, but next to him, to build a more just society, so that there is less violence and to be able to forge a common destiny as a society; as a people and a species,” he concluded.

Evangelina Ortiz, head of the Secretariat for Gender Equality and Opportunities of the Maritime, Port, and Naval Industry Federation, participated in the event as its organizer. Also present was Florencia Esperón, director of Gender Policies of the Ministry of Transportation of the Nation, and different trade union associations, such as the Center for River Patterns, among other participants linked to maritime activity and Fempinra. On behalf of the Union of Dredging and Beaconing, were Roberto Milio; also Edgardo Muñoz, who took the floor and insisted that “we must open the doors to women on equal terms.”

The objective of the Fempinra is to create awareness in the sector about the gender equality necessary in the activity.
